• Mr. Sohan .Sanjeev. Shirgaokar comes from the illustrious family of Shirgaokar Brothers, who were amongst the pioneers in the field of Sugar Industry in India. His Grandfather Shri S.S.Shirgaokar as well as His Grand uncle Shri V.S.Shirgaokar are the Past Presidents of DSTA. He brings with him their legacy of spirit of entrepreneurship, business acumen and drive to leave a mark in every area of business or social work he is associated with.
• At the age of 37, Mr. Sohan Shirgaokar is the youngest Vice President of DSTA in its history of 83 years.
• Currently Mr. Sohan. Shirgaokar is the Joint Managing Director of S B.Reshellers Pvt. Ltd.; the flagship companies of Shirgaokar Group They are the world’s third largest Sugar- Mill Roller Manufacturers.
• In this capacity. He has successfully expanded the company’s exports to more than 22 countries across the world.
• Mr. Shirgaokar also serves as Joint MD, Synergy Green Industries Ltd, which specializes in castings for Wind Mill and Mining Industry.

These Include, as Director of the Kolhapur Engineering Association, Director of “SMAK” i.e. Shiroli Manufacturer’s Association, Committee member of Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Pune Chapter., Life Member of IOD (Institute of Directors), convener of Family Business Networking of CII Southern Maharashtra Zone, member of CII Western Region Subcommittee on Family Business Network (FBN), which includes Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa States.
• As an extension of his multifaceted personality Mr. Shirgaokar devotes his time to a number of social Causes. He is a director of Avani Sanstha which mainly works on the issue of education, shelter and food for orphans. He is also associated with “Ekti”, an organization extending helping had for respectful rehabilitation of abandoned women on street. As working committee Member of “SWAYAM School”, this is a school for special children run by Indian Red Cross Society.
• In the field of Education, He was a visiting faculty for final year MBA students of Chintamanrao Management Institute and Research, Sangli. He has guided the students on subjects based on cognitive thinking processes like Consumer Behavior and Sales Marketing as specialization subjects. He was also a panel member for 3 years on Shivaji University, for selection of their MBA students.
• Mr. Sohan Shirgaokar is an avid reader and widely travelled to more than 25 countries.

Born in a farmer’s family on 2nd June, 1954 in Vanskui, Surat , Gujarat. Mr. Mansinhbhai Kalyanji Patel completed B.Com Graduation. During his college days, he was actively involved in Youth Movement and after graduation he joined politics and co-operative movement.

As a true co-operator by nature he was inspired by the work and literature of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and others. He had long and cordial relations with with ex-member of Parliament late Sh. Chhaganlal Kedaria. Influenced by the above personalities, he continuously strived for the upliftment and helping the down-trodden feeble people of the area.

At the young age of 35 years, Mr. Patel was elected as Director of Shree Mahuva Pradesh Sahakari Khand Udyog Mandli Ltd. Bamania (Mahuva Sugar) on 19.09.1989. After span of 5 years as Director, he was elected as Vice Chairman on 07.05.1993 of Mahuva Sugar.

He was elected as a Chairman on 26.06.1993 and continued his chairmanship upto 22.12.2017 and again from 11.01.2021 to till date. He has completed successfully 24 years span of Chairmanship of Mahuva Sugar Factory.

During his tenure as Chairman, the crushing capacity of Mahuva Sugar was expanded from 2000 TCD to 3500 TCD and the year 2004, a 35 KLPD Distillery Unit with 30 KLPD Ethanol plant was commissioned.

Mr. Patel has also served as Director in SUMUL Dairy, Surat from 28.12.2010 to 11.11.2011 and from 25.03.2011 he was elected as its Vice Chairman. He became its Chairman from 12.11.2011 to July 2015. In 2020 in SUMUL once again elected Mr. Patel has its Chairman.

Mr. Patel has also rendered his services as Chairman to Gujarat State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd., Gandhinagar from July 2001- 2016.

Mr. Mansinhbhai Patel also got elected as Member of Legislative Assembly of Gujarat from Mahuva-Valod Constituency in 1990 and during the period 1994 to 1995 hold the responsibility of Deputy Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly. In 1999 he also got elected as Member of Parliament from Mandvi Constituency from Bhartiya Janta Party till 2004. After seeing his dedication towards the work assigned to him, Bhartiya Janta Party made him President of Surat District which he served from the period September 2005 to January 2010.

Mr. Patel is also the Vice President of Deccan Sugar Technologist’s Association (India), Pune and Member of Advisory Council of Bhartiya Sugar, Pune. He is also recipient of the “Life Time Achievement Award” given by Bharatiya Sugar, Kolhapur in July 2016.

Mr. Patel has widely travelled to various sugar producing countries of the world and participated in several seminars/conferences/workshops in India and abroad.
